Stars and Strips River Day
Celebrate our nation's birthday with fireworks, a water-ski show, dancing, food, games, and a parade. Family fun is the theme at this two-day event. You will be sure to find something fun for the everyone. The Stars and Stripes River Day is held around July 4th.
Guttenberg Eagle Watch
Every January the remarkable sight of the giant Bald Eagle grace the Mississippi River along Lock and Dam #10. Hundreds of the birds of prey gather over the open waters near the locks to "fish for their dinner". A newly installed spotting scope allows a close-up view of the magnificent birds to be seen by the visitors who are fortunate enough to come during our annual Eagle Watch Weekend. Come to our annual festival celebrating Guttenberg's strong German heritage, held the fourth weekend of September. Highlights include authentic German music and folk dancing. German food and beer will be available. A Hummel look-alike contest is a splendid site to behold. Additionally, there will be a parade, crafts, heritage demonstrations and fun for the little ones. The festivities are held in Guttenberg's downtown historic district.
