Kellogg
is located just off Hwy. 61 in Wabasha County. It is nestled in the valley between the Minnesota bluffs to the west
and the Mississippi and Zumbro Rivers to the south and east. Local residents and visitors
alike, enjoy many outdoor activities in this area. With two beautiful rivers, rolling
prairies and the surrounding wooded hillsides. The village of Kellogg, which was founded in 1870, was named after a Milwaukee man who furnished wooden depot signs to the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad Company. In 1870, Kellogg was incorporated on Valentine's Day and still wins hearts with its small town friendliness and relaxed pace and its big shady park, complete with picnic shelter, in the center of town. There are many marshes between between Kellogg and Winona which you will find home to egrets and herons. |
