Goodhue County Historical Museum

Here you will find  many permanent exhibits which portray thousands of years of local and regional history, from the Glacier age up to present times. On the balcony overlooking the lobby, visitors see one the most complete collections of the famous local Red Wing Pottery. Also on display is a large diorama of Chief Red Wing's Dakota village and a pioneer log cabin.  Call 651-388-6024 for more details. Located at 1166 Oak Street. 

Lock and Dam #3

Watch the river traffic rise and fall as boats of all sizes and shapes lock through. To reach Lock and Dam #3, drive past Treasure Island Resort and Casino and the Northern States Power Co.  nuclear power plant. The viewing platform is open daylight hours as soon as the snow is gone in April through October. For information, call 651-388-5794.


Red Wing Historical Area

Red Wing has a large historic area which features 8 blocks of beautiful mansions and elegant homes, including T. B. Sheldon Mansion and "The Octagon House". This area, which is listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places, can be found by going west on West Avenue and continue to Third, Fourth and Fifth St.
