Onalaska Area Historical Society Museum
This museum located in the Onalaska Public Library which is located at 741 Oak Ave. S. It hosts a exhibit of many archaeological artifacts, All of which where found locally and date back before European settled into the area. The artifacts include ancient bones, tools, weapons and pottery. There is also replica of a settler's cabin as well as photos, paintings and tools used by the loggers, that once was a great industry in the Onalaska area. Other exhibits change regularly, so come often to see what is new.
Viewing hours are Wednesday-Friday from 1-3 p.m. The museum and the Onalaska Area Historical Society's archives also can be viewed by appointment and tour groups are welcome. For an appointment call Kathryn Schaller at 783-3525 or Harriet Schuppel, 783-2555.
