The car ferry in Cassville, WI

Stonefield Village

This State Historical Society museum is a replica of a late 1800's rural village featuring agricultural history and village life including period shops, stores and businesses. Historical farm implements are on display in the State Agricultural Museum complete with a 1900's farm. A short walk away from Nelson Dewey State Park. Open Memorial Day weekend until early October. Hours: 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. during May, June, September and October; 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. July and August.

Car Ferry

Cross the Mississippi to Millville, Iowa on this ferry route once traveled by Wisconsin's first governor, Nelson Dewey in 1848.  The ferry runs May through October. Per person, bike, motorcycle and vehicle rates apply. Punch cards for multiple trips are available. Call 608-725-5180 for more information.

Nelson Dewey Home Site

Located across from Stonefield Village is the reconstructed home of Wisconsin's first governor. Costumed guides take you on a tour of his life and times. Open daily Memorial Day weekend through early October.
