Laura Ingalls Wilder Days
The festival is held the third full week in September in Pepin. Annual events include a Laura Look Alike Contest. Grand Parade, Pancake Breakfast and Outdoor Ecumenical Worship Service. Other theme events may include demonstrations of traditional crafts and industries, encampments of military, buckskinner, and/or Native American presenters or re-enactors, live theatrical production, participatory activities inspired by Laura's writings, storytelling, music, and dining and shopping opportunities.
Stockholm Art Fair
The Stockholm Art Fair is held every year on the third weekend of July and is located in the riverside park below the village. During the Art Fair, the population of Stockholm, Wisconsin, rises from 80 plus to over 6,000 people. Like many of the small galleries in the area, it offers visitors the opportunity to talk with the artists and learn about the inspiration behind the artwork.
Country Christmas
Held the first weekend in December in Stockholm. This provides a chance to see a less commercial "Season of Light" The snow is real. Santa looks like the guy next door and merchants actually like you. Carolers will sing, Santa will stroll.
85 Mile Garage Sale
This unique event takes place on the first weekend in May, Saturday and Sunday From Alma, WI to Bay City, WI on Highway 35 and Red Wing, MN to Kellogg, MN on Highway 61. Residents and business in 13 historic river towns clean out their attics, garages, and basements for this very large garage sale. The sale runs from 9 5 on both Saturday and Sunday and is held rain or shine and is sponsored by the Mississippi Valley Partners. Call 608-685-3511 for more information.
