Wednesday, November 15, 2001 - Stuck in Greenville
Hey all,
Well I'm still in Greenville. I never got to leave the Yacht club. Such amazing things happen after I send out emails.
When I was in Caruthersville, A wonderful lady by the name of Jane Ellen offered to drive me to a store to buy a new radio. She drove me to two store, the news paper and then to her house to take a shower. All this from simply asking where the closest electronics store was. She was a pleasure to ride with, and she filled me in on a great deal of Caruthersville history, which I enjoyed.
So yesterday after leaving the library I was offered a warm couch to sleep on, an all you can eat buffet (they cleaned it up before I got all I could eat) and some good people to have a drink with. Well I thought about the comfortable sand bar I would of been on and decided to stay.
A man nicknamed Little Dave (for the sake of the little eyes I will leave out his other nickname) unlocked his apartment on the dock and set me up for the night. I had a wonderful night with the folks from the boat club as
Catherine the bartender served us with a smile (every time). I closed the bar speaking to Nolan and Linda Branton. They were such interesting people. Nolan was in the Pecan
business. I never considered pecans as a business, but they are. When the night ended I dam near drown stumbling back to the
apartment walking along the dock.
So the reason I am still here is my mail. They told me its here, but at another branch. So they said it would be in by 8:30, then 9:00 and now sometime around 10:00 it should be here. Well I plan to head out as soon as I get those packages
Well I figured I would share a little more of my luck with you all this morning. Have a good one!
Brendan
